I know it’s been long since my last update but just wanted to give you guys a quick update. As usual, we have a few upcoming articles in the works as well as a few new tools coming your way!
I’ve been receiving many emails from you guys asking if it is still possible for you to hit a certain GPA/CAP class based on your previous semester GPA/CAP and when you should consider S/U-ing a certain modules.
“Can I still reach my honors class?”
For the first question, I’ll be launching/have launched GPA Goal Calculators for each university based on the way their GPA/CAP is calculated. You may click the following links below to use your respective school’s (NUS,NTU and SMU) GPA/CAP Goals calculators.
NUS CAP Goals Calculator (Coming soon. Meanwhile use the one for NTU)
NTU GPA Goals Calculator (BETA)
SMU GPA Goals Calculator (BETA)
The tools are still in beta and the following implementations are planned:
Ability to type in a custom GPA/CAP.
2. If GPA/CAP is not reachable in one semester, see if it’s possible over two or more semesters.
3. Ability to choose grade for some modules you are more/less confident in to see how much your goal will change.
Hopefully the above tools will allow you to gauge how hard you need to work for the next few semesters to reach you ideal GPA. Please drop me an email or Facebook message should you have any more suggestions!
Should I SU?
For this, it really depends on the module itself. For NTU students who have to S/U their electives before the results are released, I highly recommend that you consult seniors who have taken the module before to get a gauge of what the average grade and difficulty has been like. Form this, hopefully you can gaugewhat your likely grade is. With this, play around with the NTU GPA Goals Calculator “Grade Confidence Level” (BETA) to get a gauge of much your elective score is likely to affect your GPA or Goal.
For NUS students, just use the NUS S/U Calculator to see how much your CAP will increase/decrease if you S/U.
